Erlene "Peggy" Coleman

Mrs. Erlene "Peggy" O'Neall Coleman, 74, wife of the late Ronald Thomas Coleman, of 453 Pimlico Road died Monday, April 14, 2008.
Born in Greenville, SC, Peggy was the daughter of the late Erlene Harris Johnston O'Neall and Belton Ragsdale O'Neall.
She graduated from Greenville High School in 1951 and from the University of South Carolina in 1955. Peggy was an elementary school teacher who taught in Las Vegas, NV, Washington, DC and Bad Kissingen, Germany where she met and married Tom Coleman. After living in Greensboro, NC for 10 years, Peggy and Tom returned to Greenville where they raised their family. Peggy returned to teaching and later retired from the Greenville County School District.
A life long member of First Presbyterian Church of Greenville, SC, Peggy served as an Elder, Deacon, and former President of the Women of the Church. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the National Society of the Dames of the Court of Honor, and the National Society of Magna Charta Dames and Barons.
Surviving are her son Ronald Thomas Coleman, Jr. and his wife Laurie, of Atlanta, GA; three daughters Mary Stella Huffman and her husband Will, of Columbia, SC, Erlene O'Neall Coleman, Jr. and Ellen Daniel Coleman both of Greenville, SC; four grandchildren William Thomas Coleman, Claire Kerlen Coleman, Stella Harris Huffman, and Hannah Dial Huffman; a brother Belton R. O'Neall, Jr. and his wife Jo; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Richard Gibbons officiating.
The family will receive friends in the church parlor immediately following the service. Burial will be in Post Cemetery of The United States Military Academy, West Point, NY, with her late husband.
