Erna L. Barton

MORRIS-Erna Laubmeier Barton passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016.  Erna wasborn on February 24, 1924 in Wallersdorf, Bavaria, Germany, daughter of George and Mathilde Laubmeier.  She immigrated to America in January 1928 and lived in Brooklyn until moving to Morris in 1931.Erna married William A Barton on November 24, 1943, who passed away in June 1994.  She graduated from Morris Central School in 1942 and Central City Business Institute in 1943.Erna was employed at First National Bank of Morris and Wilber National Bank retiring in 1986 and moved to Jacksonville, Florida.  She was the Secretary-Treasurer of Morris Fire District for 5 years.Erna is survived by her sister-in-law Chloe Laubmeier and several nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by her sister Stella Abenanty; brothers Karl Laubmeier and George Laubmeier.A grave side service will be held at Hillington Cemetery, Morris, NY on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 10:00 A.M.Condolences may be expressed online at www.robinsonfuneralhomes.com or in person at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, which is assisting the family with local arrangements.
