Ernest Granville Baxa, Jr. of Seneca, SC went to be with the Lord on August 31, 2022. Ernie was born in Danville, VA on July 17, 1940, and was 82 years old. He studied at the University of Virginia earning a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and then went on to earn both a master’s degree and doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering at Duke University. He served honorably as a Captain in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War before working in industry doing research. He moved his family to Clemson in 1980 and finished his career teaching Electrical Engineering at Clemson University for 25 years.

 He is survived by Ann, his wife of 60 years, and his three children, nine grandchildren and 3+ great grandchildren.

In retirement, Ernie was an avid tennis player and committed Christian. His heart, time and energy were primarily focused on spreading the gospel- making Christ known to any and to all who didn’t know the love and redemption of our Lord Jesus Christ. He was involved in planting 5 churches, served as an officer in the church directing and leading building and search committees - really anything to serve and love the body of Christ.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Clemson Presbyterian Church (PCA), in Clemson, South Carolina. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am, Saturday September 3, 2022 also at Clemson Presbyterian Church (PCA), just prior to the funeral services.  The burial will follow at Memory Gardens.
