Ernest Franklin Cater, 94, of Cedar Rock Church Rd., husband of the late Lyda Cater, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Rainey Hospice House.
Born August 20, 1919 in Pickens County, he was a son of the late W.L. and Velma Parrott Cater. He was a retired security guard with Elljean Plant and a member of Elljean Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sisters, Roberta Hall, Ferra Porter and Flora Jones; brother, Austin Cater; grandchildren, Leighanne O'Neal and Kevin Cash Holder; great-grandchild, Levi Naylor.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Mary Lou Cash; sisters, Alma Riggins, Geneva Cater and Genell Crow and brother, Fletcher Cater.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Elljean Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Enon Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road.
