Ernest M. Simmons

Ernest "Ernie" Marshall Simmons, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, left this earth to be with his Saviour on April 19, 2009.
Ernie was the ninth child born to the late John Ernest and Clara Hamby Simmons on November 12,1958. He was a graduate of Wren High School and Tri-County Technical College. He was the Department Head of Maintenance at BKI in Simpsonville and before that was a long time employee of Perception Kayak (now Confluence) in Easley. He was a member and Deacon at George's Creek Baptist Church.
Ernie is survived by his wife, Lauren Clay Simmons ; his daughter, Rachel "Dani" Crenshaw and her husband, Mike; his son, Taylor Spearman ; his granddaughter, Abbey Crenshaw and his best buddy and grandson, Allen Crenshaw, all of Easley. Also surviving are his sister, Linda Blackshire (Joe), of Piedmont ; brothers, David Simmons (Judy), Bruce Simmons (Pat) and Terry Simmons (Janet), of Pelzer.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Norris and Ethel Chapman.
Memorial Services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at Powdersville First Baptist Church with the Reverend Joe Whisnant, Reverend Toni Pate and Reverend Dr. Chris Cadenhead officiating.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road.
The family is at the home of Dani and Mike Crenshaw, 104 Rockbridge Close (Heathwood Subdivision), Easley.
