Ernest "Ernie" Randolph Stone, loving husband of Jan Evans Stone, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 13, 2018 at his home surrounded by family.
Born in Charleston, he was a son to Russell Randolph Stone and the late Ethel Addison Stone. He was a proud graduate of Summerville High School Class of '67 and of the Southern Baptist College. He considered it a privilege being a U.S. Army veteran who served his country in Vietnam. Being a professional Bail Bondsman of AAA Bonding Company for 38 years he had the opportunity to help others in their time of trouble. He was a strong man of faith and a cherished member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. Ernest was an avid golfer, loved watching his Clemson Tigers play, loved boating and spending time on the water every chance he had.
Ernest was a true man of his word, a friend to many, who he was always offering a helping hand. Over the years he was known as a loyal husband, amazing father, dedicated son, the kind of friend that has your back and a faithful follower of Jesus. He always had a smile on his face, a hand shake that would break your hand and a laugh that was full of life. Ernest was grateful to God for answering his prayer 10 years ago when he was first diagnosed with esophageal cancer, granting him more time with his family and friends. He made the most of each day he was given.
Surviving, in addition to his wife and father are a daughter, Alicia A. Dorsey and her husband Derrick of Panama City Beach, FL; a sister, Elaine Stone of Summerville; and several nieces and nephews.
Ernest was predeceased by his mother; a brother, Al Stone; and a sister, Debra Stone.
