Ernestine Ellison Fortner, 81, of Maggie Manor, wife of the late Furman Fortner, died Monday, February 23, 2009, at Palmetto Health Baptist Easley.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Ernest Roy and Lillie Collins Ellison, Mrs. Fortner retired from Saco Lowell and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son, Wallace Clark of Easley, step-son, Ernie Fortner of Easley, a sister, Polly Morgan of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Fortner was predeceased by a son, Charles "Butch" Clark, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rock Springs Baptist Church, 201 Rock Springs Road, Easley, SC 29642.
Family members are at their respective homes.
