Essie Norris Stone, 93, wife of the late Willie Talmadge Stone, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at her home.
Mrs. Stone was born in Hartwell, GA, and was a daughter of the late Robert Felton and Omie Gillespie Norris. She was retired from J. P. Stevens as an inspector, enjoyed quilting and was a member of Clemson Church of God.
Surviving are two daughters, Juanita Neeley (Wayne) of Central and Glenda Chappell (Harold) of Liberty; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, David and Felton Stone; daughter, Carolyn Carter; grandson, Michael Stone; three brothers, Robert, Willie, and Melvin Norris; three sisters, Hazel Stone, Mary Cox, and Shirley White.
Funeral services will be Sunday, May 24, 2015 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral Home.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
