Lois Estell Bridges Burkett, 82, of 733 Sharon Church Road, died Saturday, July 18, 2009 at the Rainey Hospice House of Anderson.
Born in Sandy Springs, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Mattie Evans Bridges. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of LaFrance First Baptist Church for over 50 years and was currently a member of Faith Fellowship Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathy Sexton and husband Gene of Central, Lynne Meeks and husband Jim of Liberty; a brother, Larry Bridges of Sandy Springs; six grandchildren, Allison Moody and husband Joey, Teresa Porter and husband Austin, Christopher Meeks and wife Heather, EM3 Adam Meeks, Shane Meeks; and four great-grandchildren, Mac Moody, Kellon Porter, Brentley Meeks, and Reagen Meeks. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James Harold Burkett; a brother, Ralph Bridges; a sister, Gladys Poore; and a granddaughter, Kayla Sexton.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Tuesday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with Reverend Gene Burdette officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Monday night at the funeral home from 6 PM until 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate; 1835 Rogers Road; Anderson, SC 29621.
The family is at the home.
