Estercita Clark Ferguson

Estercita Clark Ferguson, 93, wife of the late Thomas Mack Ferguson, Jr., died peacefully on Friday, August 19, 2016, in Lexington Medical Center.She was born on July 8, 1923, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to the late Olin Mitchell and Ester Soto Clark. She was raised in Clemson. She was a 1940 graduate of Calhoun-Clemson High School and a 1944 graduate of Winthrop College. She earned a degree in Education and taught school for many years. She and Tommy lived in Montgomery, Alabama for 30 years. They retired to Clemson in 1986. She was a member of Fort Hill Presbyterian Church. Following Tommy's death, she moved to West Columbia to be near her daughter and her family.


She is survived by her daughter, Ester Haymond, and her husband, Steve, of West Columbia; her grandchildren, Maria and Steven Haymond; and her brother, Mitchell Clark and his wife, Gladys, of Charlotte. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by an infant child, Linda Maria, and her sister, Teresa Clark Moore, of Clemson.


Funeral Services will be 2 PM, Tuesday at Fort Hill Presbyterian Church in Clemson. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery on the campus of Clemson University.


The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM, Sunday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, SC.
