Ethel Helen Davis Kerley Petrea, 100, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Oakmont East Nursing Center.
Born in Wilkes County, NC, a daughter of the late James and Ina Robinson Davis, Mrs. Petrea retired from Cannon Mills after forty-three years of service and was a member of Monaghan Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Brenda Widenhouse and husband, Larry of Greenville; grandchildren, Eric W. Widenhouse (Diane), Lisa P. Rogers and Kyle Massaro (Robin); great-grandchildren, Taylor Rogers, Luke Swayngham and Daniel Widenhouse; and great-great-grandson, Cayden Rogers; In addition to her parents, Mrs. Petrea was predeceased by a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Tony Massaro, her first husband, William C. Kerley and by her second husband, Haskell D. Petrea, and also by brothers, Clate and Clint Davis, a sister, Faye Campbell and a grandson. Larry Lee Widenhouse Jr.
She deeply loved her nieces and nephews and kept them close in her heart always.
Mrs. Petrea will be remembered for her faith and love of her Lord and Savior and her love for her family. She was an inspiration to all she met and was loved in return.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to her friends at Monaghan Baptist Church for their kindness, visits and prayers.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
