Ethel Kelly Whiten, 88, of 123 Couch Lane, died Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late William Harvey and Emma Jane Bell Kelly. She was a graduate of Central Wesleyan College with a nursing degree and worked as a salesperson for Garrett's Clothing. Mrs. Whiten was a member of First Baptist Church, Easley.
Surviving are a son, Woodrow Wilson Whiten of Indianapolis, IN; a daughter, Martha Jane Lefkovits of Malibu, CA; a brother, Albert George Kelly of Greenville; a sister, Katherine Smith of Easley; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. In additon to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Dwight L. Whiten.
Funeral services will be 5:00 PM Thursday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown with Rev. Dr. John Adams officiating. Private burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday from 4:00 until 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church; 300 East First Avenue; Easley, SC 29640.
