Dr. Eugene "Gene" McClain- Pendleton
Dr. Eugene F. McClain, 81 and his wife Iris McClain passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at their home in Pendleton where they lived for over 35 years. He was a retired professor at Clemson University. August 28th would have marked their 60th wedding anniversary.
He is survived by his daughter, Chris Navaee and her husband Shahnam Navaee of Statesboro, GA and a son, Rey McClain and his wife Kelly of West Pelzer. In addition to his two children, he is survived by his half-brother David Johannessen of Salem, OR, along with three half-sisters, Vilma Arias of Catati, CA, Lila Hasson of Orange, CA and Gretahe Tongsuthi of Lake Wood, CA.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 2pm at Pendleton Presbyterian Church Cemetery with memorial service to follow in the church. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8pm at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4124 Clemson Blvd., Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621.
