Mrs. Eva Mae Hanvey Roach, 92, wife of the late Otis LaBorde Smith and the late Clarence Roach, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, November 1, 2024.
Born in Anderson County, a daughter of the late John Hanvey and the late Nettie King Hanvey, Mrs. Roach retired from Pic n Pay Shoes with 27 years of service and was a member of Easley Church of God where she served as the previous church pianist, Sunday School Teacher and sang in the choir.
She lived a full life and loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Roach will be dearly missed by all that loved and knew her.
Surviving are her children, Kathy Grant of Easley, Gary W. Smith (Parker) of Anderson, and Donna R. Smith (Kevin) of Easley; her brother, Curtis Hanvey of Knoxville, TN; one sister, Mildred Smith of Laurens; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husbands and parents, Mrs. Roach was predeceased by two daughters, Joyce Metz and Dot Thacker; two brothers, Carl Hanvey and J.T. Hanvey; eight sisters, Velma Spearman, Ruth Guice, Edith Vest, Sue Smith, Gaynelle Ball, Grace Burke, Addie Louise Lothridge, and Earline Patterson and one grandchild, Jonathan Williams.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, November 4, 2024 at Easley Church of God. Burial will follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens, Woodruff, SC.
The family will receive friends from 4:30 PM until 6:30 PM, Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road, Easley.
