EVAN "Bud" LINK Pendleton

Evan Barney Link, 72, husband of Wayne Kay Link, died Monday, December 17, 2007 at his residence. A life-long resident of Pendleton, he was the son of the late Paul Barney Link and Nettie Mae Evans Link.

Bud was a fourth generation resident of Pendleton growing up in the Corinth community. He attended Bishop Branch Elementary School and graduated from Pendleton High School. He was a farmer and retired after many years of service with the Merita and Flowers Baking Company. He was a member of the Pendleton United Methodist Church and opened the family farm to numerous school groups to promote the value of agriculture and knowledge of farm life. He also served as a volunteer with the Pickens County Museum Hagood Mill Folklife Festival.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children: Pam and Johnny Rowland; Page and Robert Carroll; and, Mike and Karen Link of Pendleton; grandchildren: Bobby and Nolan Carroll of Pendleton; Weston and Michael Link of Pendleton; and Evan, Lisa and great-grandson Jacob Evan of LaFrance; brother and sisters: Tom and Diane Link of Columbiana, AL; John and Terri Link of Pendleton; Phyllis and Layne Simpson of Simpsonville; and, Dorothy Ann Link of Anderson and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by cherished extended families of Mattie Rowland of Pendleton; Shirley Whitman of Sandy Springs; Katherine Carroll of Townville; and Cliff and Sharon Bowman of Anderson. He was predeceased by a sister Mildred Jean Link Bailey.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2:00pm at the Pendleton United Methodist Church with burial to follow at the Bishop Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1 2pm at the church prior to the service. Flowers accepted or Memorials may be made to the Open Arms Hospice House, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680
