Mrs. Evelyn Bryant Crum, 96, wife of the late Charles Richard "Dick" Crum, Sr., passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Baptist Easley Hospital.


Born in Anderson County, a daughter of the late Edgar Harrison and Geneva Pearl Collins Bryant, Mrs. Crum retired from Platt-Saco Lowell and was a member of Jones Avenue Baptist Church where she was a member since 1957, and was the oldest living current member. Evelyn was a farmer at heart and loved gardening, but her greatest loves were God, family and church.


Surviving are two sons, Roger E. Crum (Tana), and Charles R. Crum, Jr. (Debbie), all of Easley; three daughters, Elaine C. Wilson (Alfred), Rachel C. Elrod (Erwin), and Joan C. England, all of Easley; three brothers-in-law, Samuel Ayers, Bob Terrill and Ross Crum; a sister-in-law, Lucille Lesley; thirteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Crum was predeceased by three brothers, Minor Lee Bryant (Doris), Calvin Bryant (Mary), and Truman Bryant (Carol); four sisters, Helen Barker (J.C.), Margie Burdette (Melvin), Mildred Ayers, and Mary Faye Terrill; one grandson, Ryan Crum, and a great-granddaughter, Caroline Davis.


Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Jones Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.


The family will receive friends from noon until 1:45 PM Saturday at the church, prior to the service.


The family is at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Erwin Elrod.
