Evelyn Trotter Groomes, 72, of Pickens, loving wife of the late Ronnie Groomes, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2020.
Born in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Gus Andrew Trotter and Louise Gilstrap Trotter. Evelyn worked and retired from Yokohama in Liberty but her true passion was spending time with her grandchildren. Cherished by all, she made sure to pass on her sass to the younger generation while teaching them about the joys of retail therapy. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and her many pets- one of which was a white skunk that she accidently mistook for one of her stray cats. Evelyn also loved gardening and all flowers, but especially day lilies, peonies and camellias.
Surviving are her son, William Scott Davis (Amy) of Piedmont; daughters, Pamela Davis Bolding of Easley, and Lesley Davis (Luis) of Greer; grandchildren, Jeremy Bolding (Lori), Dustin Davis, Darren Holcombe, Evelyn Davis, Emily Davis and Olivia Davis; and sisters, Janie Trotter Oakley (Larry) of Clyde, NC, and Sandra Trotter Owens (Donald) of Seneca.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will welcome visitors prior to the service from 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM at Robinson Funeral Home- Downtown.
Flowers will be accepted and the family will be at their respective homes.
