Evelyn Martin Porter, 73, wife of the late Robert Porter, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Rainey Hospice House.

Mrs. Porter was born in Pickens County and was a daughter of the late Fred W. and Christine Barrett Martin. She was retired from Westpoint Stevens as a sewing instructor and was a member of Wren Church of God.

Surviving are one son, Edrew (Theresa) Porter of Six Mile; a daughter, Melanie (Steven) Murray of Central, and a honorary daughter, Terri Carpenter; two brothers, William and Jerry Martin both of Central; two sisters, Alice Moore of Westminster and Martha Black of Fair Play; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother David Martin and a grandson, Robby Porter.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memory Gardens, Clemson.

The family will receive friends on Monday March 14, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral Home.

The family will be at the home of Melanie and Steven Murray, 401 Norris Highway, Central, SC  29630.
