Exie Doss Newton, 80, wife of Roy Lee Newton, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital. A native of Centreville, AL, she was the daughter of the late Houston and Ethel Caddis Doss. She was a graduate of Southern Wesleyan University and Indiana Wesleyan University. She retired as a proofreader with the Fountain Inn Tribune Times and was a member of Fountain Inn Wesleyan Church. She played "Aunt Het" in the annual Aunt Het Festival in Fountain Inn.

Beside her husband she is survived by a sister Oneita Kilpatrick and husband Earl of Harlingen, Texas, nephew David Kilpatrick and his wife Michelle and niece Beth Bookout and her husband Craig and their children Nathan and Steven.

Services will be held at 3pm Sunday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-3pm prior to the service. There will also be a memorial service on Wednesday at 6pm at the Fountain Inn Wesleyan Church.
