F. Marilyn Lewis

Frances Marilyn Lewis, 86, peacefully passed away in the early morning hours Tuesday, April 28, 2020 after an extended battle with breast cancer. Marilyn was born in Battle Creek, Michigan to Fredrick and Helen Fogle.
She is survived by her sweetheart of 63 years, Phillip Lewis; two sons Martin Kent Lewis (Joann) of Allen Park, MI and Kevin Lewis (Carolyn King-Minot) of Livonia, MI; three grandchildren, Matthew Lewis, Danielle Bohannon, Michael Lewis; six great grandchildren Matthew Jr. , Landen, Elijah, Gabriel, Alexis, and Viviana. She is the first of her siblings to pass, leaving one brother, Allen Fogle of Beaverton, MI and one sister, Susan Robertson of Lecanto, FL.
Marilyn was a member of the Congregational Church of Ypsilanti. She attended Eastern Michigan University where she majored in accounting. She used her education as an assistant accountant for a road construction company for a decade. In earlier years she worked in sales for two men's apparel establishments in Ypsilanti.
Gifted in many skills of craft, she spent countless hours crocheting and knitting and finding pleasure donating her beautiful finished work. She warmed the heads of many sailors, and her work brought comfort to lots of new parents as they wrapped their babies in her afghans or dressed their preemies in hats and booties she knitted with love.
The family will gather for an informal time of visitation at Duckett Robinson Funeral Home located at 108 Cross Creek Road, Central on Saturday, May 2nd at 1:00 PM allowing family and friends a time to reconnect, followed by funeral service at 2:00 PM.
Due to the COVID 19 crisis and in accordance with CDC guidelines, we are limiting the gathering to 50 person or less in order to protect the health of the family, our community, and our associates. We ask that you kindly respect this request for the benefit of all we serve.
In lieu of flowers the family encourages memorials to be made to breast cancer centers and or research centers of your choice.
