Fefa Childress Hendricks, 89, formerly of 233 Horseshoe Road, died Wednesday, August 20, 2008 in Carrollton, GA.
Born in Pickens, she was a daughter of the late Fulton S. and Josie Clark Childress. She received a BA in Education from Abbeville Teacher College and taught elementary school through highschool for over 30 years. She was a member of Clemson First Baptist Church and a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Clemson.
Surviving are two sons, Michael R. Hendricks and wife Mary of Abbeville, David C. Hendricks and wife Libby of Six Mile; a daughter, Judy Durscher and husband John of Carrollton, GA; a brother, B.F. "Skimp" Childress and wife Esther of Bloomington, IN; two sisters, Ann Roe of Easley, Miriam Stone and husband Carl of Easley; and four grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Hendricks.
A graveside service will be 11 AM Friday at Old Stone Church Cemetery with Reverend Dr. Russell Brock officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 9:45 AM until 10:45 AM at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clemson First Baptist Church; 397 College Avenue; Clemson, SC 29631.
