Fielding Mull

Fielding Minor Mull, 88, of 301 Blue Ridge Street, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2008, at Easley Living Center.
He was the husband of the late Helen Galloway Mull. Born April 13, 1919, in Liberty, SC, he was a son of the late Porter Carson and Ada Hawkins Mull.
Mr. Mull was an active member of Glenwood Baptist Church having participated in the choir and many other church activities and was a member of the Houston-Martin Sunday School Class. He served in the US Navy as Seaman First Class during the Pacific Theatre of World War II, being assigned to the USS Minivet. Seaman Mull was on board when the ship sank as a result of striking a mine. He retired from Mayfair Mills after fifty-four years of service and was also employed by the City of Easley, Police Department and Bi-Lo. In his earlier years, he was active in Textile League Baseball, pitching for the Glenwood Mill Team. Mr. Mull spent many years coaching Little League Baseball in the Easley area.
He is survived by his two daughters, Anne Hall (Mrs. Lynn Hall), of Easley, and Linda Moesta (Mrs. Joseph Moesta) of Bakersfield, CA; and by his son, Gregory Mull and his wife, Jo Mull, of Cherokee, NC. Additional survivors are grandchildren, David Moesta of Bakersfield, CA, Cory Moesta of San Diego, CA, Allen Hall of Portland OR, Jon Hall of Greenville, Erica Mull of New Zealand, Rev. Clint Freeman of Easley, and Kathy Freeman of Easley; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Doris Rogers and Artie Lewis, both of Easley. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Mull was predeceased by four sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Glenwood Baptist Church with Rev. Dale McCoig, Rev. Clint Freeman and Rev. Dr. John Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery.
The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown where the family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and will be placed in the church at 2:00 p.m. Thursday.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staffs of Palmetto Health Baptist Easley and Easley Living Center for their care and kindness during Mr. Mull's illness.
