Fleda Gilstrap Forrest, 89, of 204 Hollingsworth Drive, passed away Monday, June 22, 2015 at Brookdale in Easley.
Born July 14, 1925 in Pickens County, Mrs. Forrest was a daughter of the late Morris and Beulah Capps Gilstrap. She retired from the Foster Plant of Alice Manufacturing. Following her retirement, she worked at Geer Memorial Day Care. Mrs. Forrest was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, and was a former longtime member of Geer Memorial Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, C. Otis Forrest, Jr. and David Forrest (Barbara), all of Easley; one brother, Earl Gilstrap of Easley; four sisters, Della Waldrop, and Maxine Stephens, both of Easley, Gladys Jones of Goose Creek, S.C., and Margaret Patterson of Greenville; eight grandchildren, Anne Forrest, Alison Harshman, Andrea Martin, Donnie Forrest, Shannon Forrest, Stephanie Forrest, David Forrest Jr., and Christian Forrest; seventeen great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Forrest was predeceased by her husband, Charlie Otis Forrest; four brothers, Doyle, Melvin, Buck, and Lake Gilstrap; two sisters, Annie Lou and Frances Gilstrap; and her grandchild, Amy Miller.
Funeral services will be Noon Thursday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
