Mrs. Florence Hudson Childress, 88, wife of the late Julius Edward Childress, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, November 30, 2025.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Edward Guy Hudson and the late Della Moore Hudson, Mrs. Childress retired from Southern Weaving and was a member of Enon Baptist Church for over fifty years.
Florence loved baking and spending time outdoors gardening, but her greatest love was for her family and especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all that loved and knew her.
Surviving are her son, Derek R. Childress (Lesia) of Easley; two brothers, Carroll Hudson (Carol), and Jerry Hudson (Donna), both of Pickens; a sister, Judy H. Stokes (Doug) of Easley; her grandchildren, Rocky Childress (Brandi), Shawn Roberson, Quentin Childress and Jason Boroughs; and her great-grandchildren, Kase Powell, Kallan Childress, Caleb Howard and Rylee Roberson. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Childress was predeceased by her daughter, Tammy Roberson; a grandson, Craig Roberson; two brothers, Ed Hudson and Elwyn Hudson; and two sisters, Florene H. Cobb and Jean H. Tinsley.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, December 4, 2025 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Pickens.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM Thursday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
