Floyd Holbrooks

Floyd Holbrooks, 80, of 255 Erin Lane, died Monday, May 24, 2010, at his home.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Charlie Norton and Addis Chambers Holbrooks, Mr. Holbrooks retired from the US Air Force after twenty years of service where he served in Vietnam, and later retired from Vulcan Materials. He attended Maranatha Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Gladys Wardlaw Holbrooks of the home; sons, Andy Holbrooks of Windsor, SC, David Holbrooks (Kris) of Cottonwood, CA, and Chuck Holbrooks of CA; daughters, Sybil Wardlaw (Bobby) of Easley, Dianne Inabinet (Leslie) of Aiken, and Donna Leamy (Ryan) of Pickens; a step-son, Michael (Tammy) Durham of Pickens; brothers, Rev. Tommy (Nellie) Holbrooks of Wahalla, Junior (Maybelle) Holbrooks, and Kenny Holbrooks, all of Westminster, Harold Holbrooks of Liberty, Bobby Joe Holbrooks of Central, sixteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Holbrooks was predeceased by three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Charlie Bishop and Rev. Tommy Holbrooks officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m Thursday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
