Floyd Looper "Pop" Tate, 79, of 245-B Hood Road, husband of the late Myrtis Camp Tate, passed away Tuesday June 25, 2013 at McCall Hospice House.
Mr. Tate was born in Pickens County, SC, the son of the late Jeff S. and Vinnie Looper Tate. He retired as the owner and operator of Tate Trucking Company, a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve and a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Jeff Tate (Lynn), of Easley; a daughter, Kathy Ladson, of Greenville; a brother, Bruce Tate, of Greenville; grandchildren, Daniel Tate, Stephanie Ladson, Karmen Smith, Will Tate and Marissa Tate; great-grandchildren, Kierstin Smith, Kamden Nix, Madison Keller, Ella Grace Tate and Landry Tate.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Patti Lynn Tate.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM Friday, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of Jeff and Lynn Tate, 1013 Mossie Smith Road, Easley, SC.
