Foster B. Wardlaw, Jr.

Foster Bradley Wardlaw Jr., loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, died on December 11, surrounded by his family beneath his Clan Wardlaw tartan with his favorite Scottish music playing softly in the background.
Born in Orangeburg County, South Carolina on February 9, 1943, and raised in St. Matthews, SC, Foster was a son of the late Ivey Steifle Wardlaw and Foster Bradley Wardlaw, Sr. Foster was a graduate of St. Matthews High School. After earning a B.S. in Biology from Clemson University, Foster worked for more than 37 years in the university's Food Science and Nutrition department. During that time, he earned a Master's Degree in Agriculture/Food Science.
Foster was an active member of Pendleton Presbyterian Church, and acting Vice President of the International Scottish Clan Wardlaw. He enjoyed researching his genealogy and took great pleasure in sponsoring the Clan Wardlaw tent for many years at the Highland Games at Grandfather Mountain, Greenville, Hendersonville, and Loch Hartwell.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Julie Betsill Wardlaw; his children, Foster Bradley Wardlaw, III (Cortney), Julian Paul Wardlaw, Jennifer Wardlaw Harmon (Jordan); and three grandchildren, Suzi, Ivey, and Robert Harmon. Also surviving are three siblings, Jeanie Wardlaw Pressley (Kirk), Robert Steifle Wardlaw (Becky), William Wideman Wardlaw, and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to all those at St. Francis Hospital Downtown Greenville for the loving care showered on Foster and the family during his recent illness.
Graveside services will be held at Pendleton Presbyterian Church on Saturday, December 14 at 11:00 a.m. Family will receive friends Friday, from 5:00 ? 7:00 p.m. at Duckett-Robinson funeral home in Central.
