Frances Copeland Barnette

Frances Copeland Barnette, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away at her
home on April 16, 2024. She was born on November 5, 1933, in La France, SC.

Frances was a dedicated mother who cherished her family above all else. She found immense
joy in being a mother and took pride in nurturing her children Todd Barnette (Sharon) and Susan
E. Barnette. Her love extended to her grandchildren Clay Barnette (MaryLyn), Elli-Frances
Barnette, MeiRose Barnette Boyd (Jeremiah), and Ethan Barnette (Meghan); and niece, Lynn
Copeland Schweitzer (Rob).

In her free time, Frances immersed herself in activities that brought her happiness. She adored
her community, delighted in trips to the beach, found joy and comfort in singing, and treasured
moments spent reminiscing with family members.

Frances Copeland Barnette is preceded in death by husband, Melvin E. Barnette; parents,
Gerald “Jack” Copeland, Margaret Dunlap Copeland; and brother, Joe Copeland (Becky).

Frances will be dearly missed but remembered for her unwavering love, kindness, and devotion
to her family.

Visitation will be held at Zion United Methodist Church, Anderson, SC, on Friday April 19th from 2 - 2:45 pm, with a
memorial service following the visitation starting at 3 PM.

A private burial will take place after the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion United Methodist Church or Amedisys
Hospice in honor of Frances.
