Frances Blakely passed away after a wonderful life of 95 years filled with joy, family and helping others.
Born in Seneca, SC, Frances attended Winthrop College where she obtained a teaching degree and later a degree in library science. After teaching for several years, she moved to her lifelong career as a librarian, first at Easley High School and then at West End Elementary School. She retired in 1981. A member of Easley Presbyterian Church, she was active in Church Circles and their activities.
Frances is predeceased by James, her husband of 57 years, her parents Paul and Lula McMahan, and her son Robert William Blakely. She is survived by children Jim Blakely (Ann), David Blakely (Barbara) and Susan Whitlock (Scott), 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 12th at 2:00 P.M. in the Robinson Memorial Gardens "Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum" ,1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC 29642.
The family will receive friends following the service at the home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Easley Presbyterian Church, United Christian Ministries, or a charity of your choice.
