Frances M. Christopher

Frances Massingill Welborn Christopher, 81, of 605 Southway Street, went to be with the Lord Saturday December 13, 2008 at her home.
Mrs. Christopher was born in Easley, a daughter of the late James C. and Beatrice Lewis Massingill. She was a retired cosmetologist and owner of Fran's Fashion Flair in West Columbia, SC. Mrs. Christopher was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and the Ida Looper Sunday School Class.
Surviving are her son, Michael J. Welborn and his wife, Nancy, of Lawrenceville, Georgia ; a daughter, Sherrie Welborn Smith, of Columbia, SC ; three sisters, Mary Addington and her husband, Jack, and Hazelene Winslett, all of Easley, and Doris Henry and her husband, Eddie, of Highlands, NC ; grandchildren, Tracie Brack and her husband, Jeff, of Flowery Branch, Georgia, Todd Welborn and his wife, Laurie, of Houschton, Georgia, Kirby Smith and his wife, Ashlee, of Pensacola, Florida and Brittany Smith, of Niceville, Florida ; great-grandchildren, Julie Brack, Will Brack, Katie Brack and Olivia Welborn ; brothers-in-law, Charles Welborn and his wife, Mary, of Mauldin, SC and Harold Field, of Marion, SC ; a sister-in-law, Gladys Welborn, of Easley and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Jeannette McCue Massingill ; her husbands, Lloyd C. Welborn and Elbert Addison Christopher ; a daughter, Cindy Welborn Martin ; a brother-in-law, Harold Welborn and a sister, Viola Field.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday at Rock Springs Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. David Gallamore officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 am Tuesday. Members of the Ida Looper Sunday School Class are invited to serve as honorary escort for the funeral service.
The family is at the residence and will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday at Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown.
Flowers are acceptable or memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
