Frances Thompson Fennell

Frances Thompson Fennell, 104, wife of the late Lee Roy Fennell, of Easley, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at The Retreat at Easley.

Born in Central, SC, she was a daughter of the late Lela Pace and John Austin Thompson, Sr.

Mrs. Fennell retired from Raylass Department Store. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was the oldest member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church and the Grace Phillips Sunday School Class. She was a prayer warrior and she loved her family.

Mrs. Fennell is survived by a son, Roger C. Fennell (Peggy) of Powdersville; a daughter, Janice Whitehead of Asheville, NC; three grandchildren, Cindy Perry (Alvin), Jim Whitehead, and Sherri Thompson (Jeff); four great-grandchildren, Jason Perry (Becky), Stacy Huff (Matt), Noah Whitehead (Haley), and Joshua Whitehead; a step great-grandchild, Justin Thompson (Kourtney); a great-great-grandchild, Caleb Perry; and two step great-great-grandchildren, Jacob and Avery Thompson.

In addition to her loving husband of 66 years, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Louise Sloan Fennell; and son-in-law, George Whitehead; and three brothers, Marion Thompson, Wilson Thompson, and "Little" John Thompson, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2022 at the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home, Downtown. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2022 at the funeral home.
