Frances Nash Harmon, 99, widow of the late Albert D. Harmon, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
Born on Feb. 1, 1921 in East Spencer in Rowan County, NC, she was the 3rd youngest of 7 children of the late Archie Lee and Mary Kennerly Nash.
She was raised in Salisbury, NC and attended Catawba College. After moving to Clemson in 1964 she attended Clemson University and graduated with honors in 1968 and was a member of the Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi. She worked with the SC Department of Social Services in Anderson County for 10 years, specializing in Foster Care.
Frances is survived by a daughter, Beth Harmon of Atlanta; grandson, Peter Cole; and great grandson, Braxton Haynes both of Clemson.
In addition to her husband of 56 years, she was predeceased by a daughter Mary Harmon Cole.
There will be a private graveside service for the immediate family at Memory Gardens in Clemson.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
