Heaven is a little bit sweeter today as Frances Reeves Massingill, 75, widow of Ray Lewis Massingill, met her Savior face to face Wednesday, October 8, 2014.

Born in Piedmont, Mrs. Massingill was the daughter of the late Richard Iler "Pat" and Florence Mildred Simmons Reeves. She graduated from Piedmont High School, Class of 1957, and she retired from The Willows of Easley. Mrs. Massingill was a long time member of Park Street Baptist Church, where she lived a life of Christian Service as a Sunday School teacher and president of the Women's Missionary Union.

Surviving are two sons, Chris Massingill of Easley, and Robin Massingill (Diane) of Woodruff; a daughter, Vonda Cooley (Bruce) of Abbeville; two brothers, Marcus Reeves of Pickens and Harvey "Buck" Reeves of Vacaville, CA. She was affectionately known and loved as Grandma by Ethan, Rachel, and Bethany Massingill of Woodruff; and Ma by Adriana, Cara, and Jonah Cooley of Abbeville.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Park Street Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Alton Nix and the Reverend Bruce Cooley officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.

Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to Park Street Baptist Church, 114 Robinson Avenue, Easley, SC 29640 or to the charity of one's choice.

Family members extend special appreciation to Dr. John Cox and all of the friendly staff at Redeemer Health and Rehab for their affectionate care of Mrs. Massingill.

The family is at her home, 212 Pine Street, Easley, SC 29640.
