Frances Alexander Owen, of Easley, wife of Arley E. Owen, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 19, 2014 at her home.

Born June 5, 1927 in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Mae Finley Alexander and had five siblings. She married Arley E. Owen in 1946 upon his return from WWII. They were happily married for sixty eight years. Mrs. Owen was a loving homemaker and an active member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and the Willing Workers-1 Bible Fellowship Class.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Sheryle Metcalf (Steve) of Durham, NC, Janet Huskins (Keith) of Winston-Salem, NC and Cyndi Childs (Bert) of Easley; sisters, Jean Martin of Easley and Betty Jo Webster of Alabama; four grandchildren, Andrew and Marcus Metcalf, Carly Childs and Alexandra Huskins, and five great-grandchildren. She was also blessed with loving relationships with her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Helen Bratcher and two brothers, Marvin Alexander and Winford Alexander.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 22, 2014 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Burial will follow in Refuge Baptist Church Cemetery in Central.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Escorts of Honor will be the Willing Workers-1 Bible Fellowship Class.
