Frances Elizabeth Smink, 72, of 206 Pine Ridge Drive, Easley, S.C. passed away February 28, 2010 at the Oconee Hospice of the Foothills, Seneca, SC.

She was born July 25, 1937 in Lykens, PA and was the daughter of Isaac and Phroda Studholm. Surviving is her husband of 51 years, Jay Smink, and two sons, Jay Jeffrey Smink and his wife Kristine Kienzl who live in Copley, OH; and John Andrew Smink and his wife Susan Smink, and their two daughters Olivia Rose Smink and Madeline Frances Smink who live in Seneca, SC.

Also surviving her are a sister-in-law Beverly Zimmerman and her husband Ken Zimmerman living in Williamstown, PA, her Aunt Mildred Smink living in Lykens, PA, her nephew Steve Studholm living in Lancaster, PA, her niece Ann (Studholm) Behling living in Lititz, PA, and her sister-in-law Loretta Studholm living in Lititz, PA. Other surviving relatives include a nephew, James Bopp and two nieces, Lora Kerwin and Jill Trombetti.

Mrs. Smink was an RN for 25 years employed for 17 years at the Polyclinic Hospital in Harrisburg, PA and for eight years at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, OH. She was an active quilt maker and member of the Lake and Mountain Quilters Guild in Seneca, SC until her recent illness. She enjoyed antique collecting and college football and basketball and she was a huge fan of the Clemson Tigers and the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Visitations will be held on Thursday, March 4 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central, SC. A brief prayer and memorial service will follow the visitation.

The graveside funeral service will be arranged by the John R Schultz Funeral Home in Lykens, PA. Visitations and a prayer service will be held in the Twin Valley Alliance Church in Williamstown, PA on March 8 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery in Wiconisco, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cancer Charities Foundation, Cancer Centers of the Carolinas, 65 International Drive, Greenville, SC 29615.
