Frances Shelton Smith

Frances Shelton Smith, 86, wife of the late, Roy E. Smith, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019.

Mrs. Smith was born and raised in Clemson, a daughter of the late, Paul Hadfield and Eunice Harrison Shelton. She was a loving wife and mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a gracious friend to many and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Clemson and a loyal Clemson Tiger.

Surviving are a daughter, Karen Kelley and husband, Barry of Clemson, sons; Steve Smith and wife, Kay of Charlotte, NC, Roy E. (Chip) Smith, Jr. and wife, Paula of Central and Mark Smith and wife, Angie of Central; grandchildren, Angie Hitchings (Ken) of Kernersville, NC, Greg Kelley of Clemson, Alexi Smith of Six Mile, Garrett Smith and Wesley Smith, both of Central, Katye Dunbar and Jake Dunbar both of Clemson and great-grandchild Connor Hitchings of Kernersville, NC.

In addition to her beloved husband and parents she was predeceased by a brother, Paul Shelton, Jr.

A private graveside service will be held at Old Stone Church Cemetery on Friday, November 1, 2019 at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or stjude.org.
