Mrs. Frances Black Smith, 91, of Easley, loving wife of the late Jim Ed Smith, passed away Monday, June 22, 2015 at Pendleton Manor in Greenville.

Frances was born on June 22, 1924 to the late Ansel and Lavern Gattis Black. She retired from Alice Manufacturing Company as a weaver after 44 years. In her free time, She enjoyed her garden, yardwork, sewing, and especially cooking for and spending time with her family. She was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Easley, and a member of the Sarah Smith Sunday School Class.

Mrs.Smith is survived by a daughter; Mickie Sentell of Easley; three sisters; Willard Shaloski, Lula Camp, and Sue Gibson, all of Easley; and twograndchildren; Paige Holliday (Michael), and Eddie Sentell (Diane). She is also survived by sevengreat-grandchildren; Emily Sentell, Casey Owens, Tyler Owens, Brandon Holliday, Jamie Holliday, Patty Sentell, and Wyatt Sentell; and onegreat-great-grandchild; Audrey.

In addition to her husband and parents; she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Charlie Sentell; and her three brothers: James, Elmo, and Melvin Black.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Easley. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family requests that the members of the Sarah Smith Sunday School Class serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Journey Hospice; 665 N Academy St, Greenville, SC 29601.
