Francis John Dyer, 90, of 106 Dogwood Lane, husband of the late Denise Schwerdlin Dyer, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014 at his home.
Born in Garden City, NY, the son of the late Charles Francis and Florence Rufa Dyer, Mr. Dyer retired as export traffic manager with Continental Grain and was of the Lutheran faith. He was a veteran of the D-Day invasion of France during World War II while serving with the US Army.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews and his caregivers, Carman Robertson Ling and Donald Ling. In addition to his wife, Mr. Dyer was predeceased by two sons, John Bruce Dyer and Gregg Dyer and by a sister, Florence Baugmann.
Friends will be received from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
