Francis Deforest "Da" Whitt, 91, of 211 North East Main Street, died Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Palmetto Health Baptist.

Born in Pelzer he was a son of the late Hagood W. and Nannie Brown Whitt. He was a retired employee with both Libco Mill, Liberty and the US Post Office of Easley, a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and a US Army veteran of WWII.

He is survived by: a daughter, Dorothy Patterson and husband Tommy of Six Mile; a daughter-in-law, Patricia G. Whitt of Liberty; one sister, Velma Sweet of Easley; three grandchildren, Tommy Patterson, Deborah Whitt and Roger D. Whitt; four great-grandchildren, Anna P. Wilson, Samuel Patterson, Caroline Whitt and Zachary Whitt; and two great-great-grandchildren, Libby and Drew Wilson.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by: his first wife and the mother of his children, Ethel Findley Whitt; his second wife, Sue Ellen Spearman Whitt; a son, Donald Francis Whitt; three brothers, Raymond, Waymond and Wilson Whitt; and one sister, Corrie Cooper.

Funeral services will be 2 PM, Tuesday at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. David Gallamore and Rev. Bo Mackey officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Monday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.

The family is at his residence.
