Frank Stanley Blair, 75, husband of Carla Griffin Blair, passed away, Sunday, August 20, 2023 at his home in Pendleton.
Frank was born in Oconee County, the son of the late Eulysses Nelson Blair and Anna Carver Thomas. Frank was a US Army disabled veteran of the Vietnam War having been awarded a Purple Heart and various medals for his meritorious service to his country. Following his service in the army, Frank received an associate degree in Automotive Repair from Tri County Technical College and later worked as a security guard with Duke Power. He was a member of the Christian Church in Seneca - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He supported and worked with Boy Scouts of America and was a long-time member of the NRA. He was a photographer, enjoyed stamp and coin collecting and loved to be in the outdoors.
In addition to his wife, Carla, he was survived by children, James Whisenhunt IV and wife, Joy of LaFrance, SC, Shannon Keller and wife, Danielle Bruce of Snellville, GA, Joseph Whisenhunt and wife, Christine of Lugoff, SC, Nancy Zavaleta and husband, Manuel of Pendleton, SC and Ryn Blair of Seneca, SC; 19 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his step-father Martin Thomas; and brothers, William and Ronnie Blair.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, August 23, 2023 in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will take place at 2:00 PM, Wednesday at Fort Jackson National Military Cemetery at Fort Jackson.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 PM, Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Road, Central, SC 29630.
