Frank Ewing Gibson, 93, of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at his residence. He was born January 16, 1930, in Sumter, SC, son of the late Bentley Gordon Gibson, Sr. and Mary Delgar Brown.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marean Gibson; three brothers, Bentley Gibson, Bill Gibson, Edward Gibson; sister, Harriett Gibson; son-in-law, Mack Edward Wood, Jr.; and his dog, Grier.
Survivors include his daughter, Tamara Wood of Myrtle Beach, SC; two sons, Bentley Gibson and his wife, Nancy of Easley, SC and Michael Gibson and wife, Lisa of Easley, SC; three grandsons, Brock Gibson and wife, Laura of Moore, SC, Taylor Gibson (Kayla) of PA, and Dalton Wood of Myrtle Beach; great grandsons, Maddox, Micah, Levi, Judson, & Ollie; one great granddaughter, Hazel; four nephews, Mark, Dale, John, and Manning; three nieces, Jennifer, Kristi, & Dana; brother-in-law, Harold Kay; and many other extended family members.
Frank proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist for many years at St. Francis in Greenville, SC; Cobb Memorial in Royston, GA; and Georgetown Memorial Hospital in Georgetown, SC. He loved his job so much he didn’t retire until the age of 80 years old. In addition to working, he loved spending time deep sea fishing, working on Cadillac's, and above all spending time with his family.
The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, from 12:00 PM until 12:45 PM at Robinson Funeral Home, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC, with a celebration of Frank’s life at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.
