Frank D. Kinard, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and faithful servant of the Lord, entered his eternal home surrounded by love on December 11, 2025, at the age of 91. He was born to John Wister and Allena Scoggins Kinard on May 1, 1934. Known for his kindness, humility, and steadfast faith, Frank lived his life in quiet service-to his family, his church, and his community.
Frank shared 60 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Billie Jo Elmore Kinard. On February 28, 2023, they celebrated their diamond anniversary, a testament to the enduring love and commitment they shared.
For 55 years, Frank and Billie called the Brushy Creek Community on Pineview Drive in Easley, South Carolina, their home. Later, they returned to their hometown of Anderson to reside at Dominion Senior Living on North Highway 81.
Frank spent his career with Folz Vending, where he was admired for his integrity, reliability, and strong work ethic. His true passion, however, was teaching God’s Word. Over the years, he taught Sunday School in several classes: energetic 5th-6th grade boys, young couples, married couples, and eventually his cherished last couples' class. Frank’s teaching was gentle, sincere, and rooted in Scripture.
As a resident of Dominion Senior Living on Highway 81 North, Frank continued serving the Lord even in his later years. He faithfully led Thursday devotionals, an opportunity he deeply loved. He held a special affection for the staff and residents of Dominion Assisted Living, who provided him with friendship, dignity, and community.
Frank’s life is beautifully reflected in the following scripture, 1 Corinthians 13:13:“ And now abide faith, hope, love these three; but the greatest of these is love.”
Frank embodied this verse through his compassion, his patience, and the love he poured into every relationship.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated teams at AnMed ICU and 5 North, Regency Hospital, and Hospice of the Upstate for their excellent and compassionate care.
Frank was truly loved by all who knew him.
Frank is predeceased by his wife and parents; and brothers, William A. “Bill” Kinard and Robert Lee “ Bobby” Kinard; and sisters Margret Ann Starling and Betty Jean Cheshire.
Frank is survived by two sons, Brad Nixon (Kristin), Michael Kinard (Lori), four grandchildren who brought him great joy: Bradley Nixon, James Kinard, Lorianne Taylor (Zac), and Michaela Kinard, and numerous extended family members, beloved friends, and all who were blessed by his life and ministry.
Frank’s legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched through love, kindness, and unwavering faith. May he rest in the peace and presence of the Lord he served so faithfully
