Mr. Fred H. Ellison, 75, of 112 Camelot Court, husband of Doris Nichols Ellison, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Rainey Hospice House, Anderson.
Born in Piedmont on September 18, 1935, he was a son of the late Cecil E. and Anita Jones Ellison. He was an Insurance Planning Consultant with Liberty Life and Pilot Life Insurance Companies, a former building inspector with the City of Easley, and a self-employed entrepreneur. Mr. Ellison was a member of Elljean Baptist Church for some fifty years, having served his church in many capacities including Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent, deacon and financial secretary.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home, are a son, Steven H. Ellison (Mary Beth); two brothers, J.M. and David Ellison, and two sisters, Margaret E. McClellan and Sybil E. Ferguson, all of Easley. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ellison was predeceased by a sister, Gertrude Powell, an infant brother, Billy Joe Ellison, and three, brothers-in-law, Edward E. Powell, Houston Matthew (Ted) McClellan and Milton P. Ferguson, Jr.
A time of visitation will be held Thursday, November 18, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown and a service of Death and Resurrection will also be held in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown Friday, November 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Fowler and Rev. Ron Bentley officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family is at the residence.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Rainey House for the care and kindness shown to Mr. Ellison, and all those family and friends who assisted the family during Mr. Ellison's lengthy illness.
Flowers are accepted, or memorials may be sent to the Building Fund of Elljean Baptist Church, 605 Elljean Road, Easley, SC 29640 or to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
