Mrs. Freddie Lusk Jewsbury, 88, wife of Stephen R. Jewsbury, passed away Friday, May 15, 2026.
Born August 10, 1937 in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Hampton Lusk and the late Thelma Lark Lusk. She was the youngest of ten Children and predeceased by sisters, Mary Wanda Lusk, Helen Cox, Hazel Miller, Frankie Mercer, Winola Watt and Joann Allen; and two brothers, Herbert Lusk and Sam G. Lusk.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of sixty-two years, are her son, Stephen R. Jewsbury, III.; and one grandson, Brayden Lusk Jewsbury of Easley.
Freddie was a 1955 graduate of Easley High School and a 1959 graduate of Lander College where she earned her BS Degree in Elementary Education. She was a Board Certified Teacher and taught in the Atlanta City and Dekalb County School Systems in Georgia; as well as the Norfolk City School System in Virginia.
Freddie was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church and a member of the Chancel Choir. She served on the Pickens County Beautification and Environmental Advisory Board for thirteen years.
A Celebration of Life graveside services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, May 17, 2026 at Westview Cemetery, Easley.
All are invited for a gathering immediately following the graveside service at Providence Presbyterian Church, 4000 Highway 153, Greenville, SC 29611
Memorial donations may be made in memory of Freddie to the Lander University Education Department, Greenwood, SC to fund or assist a student in Elementary Education.
