Fulton Flynn Roper, 92, of 124 Ridge Road, Greenville, died May 5, 2012 at McCall Hospice House.

Mr. Roper was the son of the late Manning and Eva Roper, and the husband of Ruth Fagan Roper for 68 years. He was a 1941 graduate of Clemson University and taught Agriculture in North Carolina Public Schools for 33 years.

Mr. Roper was a long-time member of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and member of the Sandy Plains and Greenville congregations. He served as building fund chairman and elder, and chaired a building project at Sandy Plains and was instrumental in raising funds to establish a mission church in Mexico. Mr. Roper received the award of most active layman in the ARP denomination. He also served as mission chairman and worked to establish Unity ARP Church in Piedmont, SC. Fulton served for several years on the World Mission Board for the denomination.

Mr. Roper is survived by his wife, Ruth Fagan Roper; a sister, Ruth Hendricks of Pickens; a son, Reverend Sam Roper and wife Pam; and two grandsons, Joey and Michael Roper. In addition to his parents, Mr. Roper was predeceased by 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at the Greenville ARP Church.

The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.
