Furman M. Finley, 96, of 516 Finley Road, died Monday, January 28, 2008 at Palmetto Health Baptist.

Born in Laurens County, a son of the late Wylie Quillen and Ida Rachel Duncan Finley, he was a life-long farmer, former owner and operator of F.M. Finley Grocery Store, member of Woodman of the World, the Slabtown Masonic Lodge and a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church.

Surivivng are: one son, Haskell F. Finley and wife, Ann, of Easley; one daughter, Hazel Miller of Easley; one daughter-in-law, Pat H. Finley of Easley; one sister, Lois F. Jewell of Liberty; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Ella Mae Findley Finley; one son, Charles Finley; one son-in-law, Billy J. Miller; one brother; and one sister.

Funeral services will be 2 PM, Wednesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Revs. Doug Goss and Gregg Finley officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family is at their respective homes.
