Gaines Edward Corn, 91, of 214 Fairview Drive, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Monday, May 19, 2014 at his home.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Hillard Eastman and Lucy Thornton Corn, Mr. Corn retired from Alice Manufacturing Company and was a member of United Wesleyan Church.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Gentry Shirley Corn of the home; a sister, Vera Green of Newport, NC; a special nephew, Danny Richard; and two step-sons, Paul Shirley of Easley and Charles Shirley, Jr., of Albuquerque, NM. In addition to his parents, Mr. Corn was predeceased by his first wife, Margie Bagwell Corn, daughter, Pamela Lynn Shirley, four brothers, Robert, Carl, Lawrence and Clyde Corn, and by four sisters, Louise Gibson, Blanche Spearman, Ruth Byers and Lucille Richard.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
Visitation will be from 2:30 until 3:15 PM Wednesday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to United Wesleyan Church, 738 Rice Road, Easley, SC 29640.
The family is at the residence.
