Mr. Garvin Hullett Lewis, 85, husband of Leila Syble Lewis, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at his home.

Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Virgil Joe and Mildred Bailey Lewis, Mr. Lewis retired from Mayfair Mills-Pickens Division, and was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. He was a US Army veteran.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Sybil Chambers (Thomas); two brothers, T.J. Lewis and Hildred Lewis (Vickie); a sister, Evelyn Porter (Iva); and three grandchildren, Shanna Loftis (Matt), Starla Chambers, and Summer Limbaugh (Aaron). In addition to his parents, Mr. Lewis was predeceased by three brothers, Lester, Wallace, and Berce Lewis; and one sister, Velma Waldrop.

Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Saturday, June 21, 2014 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:45 PM Saturday prior to the service, at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of Iva and Evelyn Porter.
