Gary Lee Coon Sr., 63, of Easley, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010 at his residence.

Born on June 5, 1947 in St. Albans, VT., he was a son of Dennis and Dorothy Curry Coon. Mr. Coon served in the Army National Guard and worked for Fonda Container Corporation for over 45 years. In 2007 he moved to Easley to work for Tri-Tech Manufacturing to assist in their startup. Mr. Coon and his wife Nancy Palmer was married on December 14, 1968 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in St. Albans Bay. Mr. Coon loved his family and grandchildren and attending their events. He also loved working with wood and collecting model trains and his beloved Red Sox.

Surviving in addition to his parents, are his wife Nancy Palmer Coon of the home; two daughters, Heather Lee Coon Dunsmore (Brian) of Georgia, Brandi Lee Cote (Joe) of South Carolina; a son Gary Lee Coon Jr.(Lisa) of Fairfield; seven grandchildren Kassandra, Kolby, Keannah, Kameron,Sadie,Silas and Griffin; one sister Betty Jordan (Andy) of Florida; one brother Richard Coon Sr. (Colleen) of Highgate of Vermont; a mother -in-law Wanda Palmer of Fairfax, and brother and sister-in laws Mary (Bill) Meigs, Mike (Kathy) Palmer, Denise Palmer and Sandra Lucia and partner Dwight Diamond, and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and an aunt Ada.

A memorial service will be Friday, December 17, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Minor Funeral Home in Milton. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in St. Albans in the spring.

Visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:00 PM and 7:00 until 9:00 PM Thursday December 16, 2010 at Minor Funeral Home in Milton.
