Gary Virgil "Petey" Cooper, loving husband to Bobbie Lesley Cooper for 52 wonderful years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at his home.

Born in Greenville County, a son to the late Virgil W. Cooper and the late Clara Gibson Cooper, he was a former Supervisor at Kemet Electronics and was a cherished member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Gary Keith Cooper (Karen) of Alameda, CA; a daughter, Cindy Cooper Johnson (Chris) of Piedmont; brothers, Richard Cooper (Margaret) of Piedmont, Vernon Cooper (Sharon) of Piedmont, and Steve Cooper (Gwen) of Easley; sisters, Audrey Cooper Porter (Kenneth) and Priscilla Cooper Owens, both of Piedmont; a granddaughter, Morgan Elise Johnson; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Mr. Cooper was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Donnie Owens.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road.

Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery West.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017, at the funeral home.
